UiT team organized the final workshop of the project aiming to make concrete plans for future collaboration between two countries related to increase efficiency of production, better fish welfare and implementation of new innovative and smart technologies.
The final workshop was held at the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics (BFE), University of Tromsø. The team from the Department of ecology, agronomy and aquaculture from University of Zadar (Prof. Bosiljka Mustać, Assoc. Prof. Zoran Šikić, Assoc. Prof. Ivan Župan and Ass. Prof. BrunaPetani) participated in three days activity during the visit to University of Tromsø.
The first day meeting with various key stakeholders was held at UiT:
– SCALE AQ: New Technologies for advancing aquaculture
– Nofima: Low trophic species production- trends in Norway and globally
– UiT: Marine bio prospecting
– Nofima: Cod breading program
– The Norwegian Seafood Federation: Representing seafood industry
The second day was destined for visit to company Blue Vision viewing center, located at Tromsø. This educational visit was followed by visit to FHF – Norwegian Seafood Research Fund related to funding opportunities in aquaculture. In the afternoon a round table was held at UiT. Here, a fruitful discussion related to the main results from COADVANCe project and strategy for future collaboration between the Norwegian and Croatian partners was highlighted and drafted.
The last day was concluded with a field visits to the AkvaplanNiva's marine experimental facilities, and a visit to the Centre for Marine Aquaculture at Røsneshamn on Ringvassøya.
